FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD DATA:
SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES:  Treat as a petroleum fire.  Do not use solid stream of water.

UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS:  Firefighters should wear SCBA in positive pressure mode with full face shield.  The flammable components are heavier than air and may travel long distances and accumulate in low areas or spread along ground from handling site.  Eliminate all sources of ignition as vapor may ignite.  Carbon oxides may be formed.

SECTION FIVE - REACTIVITY DATA

STABILITY:  This product is stable, avoid open flames and high temperatures (above 120°F) and direct sunlight.

INCOMPATIBILITY:  This product could react vigorously with oxidizing materials.  A very dangerous fire and explosion hazard when exposed to heat or flame.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS:   Silicone dioxide, carbon dioxide, and traces of incompletely burned carbon products, fumes, smoke, carbon monoxide.
HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION:   Will not occur.

SECTION SIX - HEALTH HAZARD DATA

EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE:
EYE CONTACT:  Product can be considered irritating, causing redness, itching and burning sensation.  No evidence has been found to support damaging eye tissue, unless product is sprayed directly into eye at close range.
SKIN CONTACT:  Low order of toxicity, frequent or prolonged contact may irritate and cause dermatitis.
SKIN ABSORPTION:  No evidence if skin absorption occurring.

INGESTION:   Small amounts of this product aspirated into the respiratory system during ingestion or vomiting may cause mild to severe pulmonary injury, possibly progressing to death.  Considered low order of toxicity.

INHALATION:  High vapor aerosol concentrations ( greater then approximately 100ppm)  are irritating to the eyes and respiratory tract, may cause headaches, dizziness, anesthesia, drowsiness, unconsciousness, and other central nervous systems effects, including death.  Could be considered a narcotic in high concentrations.

HUMAN SYSTEMIC EFFECTS:  Hallucinations, structural change in nerve or sheath.  Hexane is a teratogenic and causes reproductive effects.  Mutation data has been reported.

EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES
EYE CONTACT:  Immediately flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes.  Make sure each eyelid is lifted to allow complete rinsing of solution.  Consult physician promptly.

SKIN CONTACT:  Remove contaminated clothing and completely wash exposed areas with soap and water.  Wash clothing before wearing.
INHALATION:  Remove person to fresh air.  If breathing has stopped, give artificial respiration.  If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.  Call physician immediately if symptoms persist.
INGESTION:  Unlikely, as an aerosol, but if ingested do not induce vomiting. Give 2 full glasses of water.  Keep victim’s head below hips or on their left side with their head down.  Call physician or poison control center immediately.

SECTION SEVEN -  ENVIRONMENTAL AND DISPOSAL INFORMATION

ACTION TO TAKE FOR SPILLS/LEAKS:  Eliminate all sources of ignition, ventilate enclosed areas.  Soap up with absorbent.  Place in non-leaking containers for disposal.
WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD:  Dispose of in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

SECTION EIGHT - HANDLING AND STORAGE PRECAUTIONS

Store in tightly sealed containers.  Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame.  Do not get in eyes, on skin or clothing.  Do not breathe vapor, mist or gas.  Do not store or transfer to unmarked container.  Do not throw empty containers in trash compactor.  Do not store in direct sun.  Store containers below 120°F.  Do not throw empty containers into fires.  Read label completely before using.

SECTION NINE - SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION (SPECIFY TYPE):   Concentration in air determines protection needed.  Use only NIOSH certified respiratory protection.  Respiratory protection usually not needed unless product is heated or misted.  Half mask air purifier, respirator with dust/mist filter or HEPA filter cartridge is acceptable to 10 times the exposure limit.
VENTILATION:  Local mechanical exhaust ventilation capable of maintaining emissions at the point of use below the PEL/TLV.

PROTECTIVE GLOVES:  Any lined non-permeable rubber gloves.

EYE PROTECTION:  Chemical resistant safety glasses with protective side shields.

OTHER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:  Non-permeable clothing to protect all skin from liquid contact.  Do not eat or drink around this product when using it.  Wash exposed areas with soap and water when finished using.
