SKIN
CONTACT: Prolonged and/or repeated skin
contact with this product may cause irritation/ dermatitis. Contains
component(s) which
may be absorbed through the skin.
INGESTION: Pulmonary aspiration hazard if
swallowed. May be
harmful or fatal if swallowed. Ingestion may result in central nervous
system depression and/or kidney and liver damage. Ingestion may cause
gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
INHALATION: Excessive inhalation may cause headache,
dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, and vomiting. May cause
irritation to the respiratory tract.
EMERGENCY
AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES
EYE
CONTACT: Immediately rinse with water
for at least 15 minutes lifting both upper and lower eyelids, and seek medical
advice. Get medical attention if eye irritation develops or persists.

SECTION SEVEN- ENVIRONMENTAL AND DISPOSAL INFORMATION |
ACTION
TO TAKE FOR SPILLS/LEAKS: Wear appropriate
protective equipment during clean-up. Stop the flow of material, if this is
without risk. Absorb with non-flammable suitable absorbent such as sand or
earth. Dispose of used absorbent in approved waste container. Persons not
wearing protective equipment should be excluded from area of spill until
clean-up has been completed. Remove soiled clothing and launder before reuse.
Avoid skin contact and inhalation of vapors during disposal of spills. Surfaces may become slippery after spillage.
|
SECTION EIGHT- HANDLING AND STORAGE PRECAUTIONS |
Avoid
getting this material into contact with your skin and eyes and avoid breathing
mists or vapors. Use this product with adequate ventilation. Wash thoroughly
after handling. Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool,
dry, well-ventilated place away from incompatible materials. Keep
containers tightly closed when not in use. Do not store this material in open
or unlabeled containers. Empty containers contain product residue and can be
dangerous. Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, or expose
such containers to heat, flame, sparks, static electricity, or other sources of
ignition; they may explode.
|
SECTION NINE- SPECIAL PROTECTION
INFROMATION |
PERSONAL
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
EYES/FACE: Wear safety glasses. Wear chemical goggles
or faceshield if splash or mist occurs.
SKIN: Use impervious gloves for prolonged contact.
Use of protective coveralls and long sleeves is recommended.
RESPIRATORY: Use an organic vapor respirator for
concentrations exceeding the occupational exposure limits.

SECTION ELEVEN – TOXICOLOGICAL
INFORMATION |
ACUTE
TOXICITY:
GENERAL
PRODUCT INFORMATION: Diethylene glycol
is a central nervous depressant and kidney and liver toxin. Over exposure may result in liver and kidney
damage. Triethylene glycol monoethyl
ether (TGME) is slowly absorbed through the skin. Chronic oral exposure to TGME may result in
changes to the liver and testes. TGBE
has low order toxicity by dermal and oral routes and contact with eyes may
result in irritation. Ethylene glycol is
a respiratory and eye irritant. Ethylene
Gylcol is absorbed through the skin.
Ingestion of large amounts has produced kidney damage, metabolic
acidosis, renal failure, heart failure, and pulmonary edema. Calcium oxalate crystals may accumulate in
kidney or brain. Ethylene glycol is a
central nervous system depressant characterized by headache, dizziness, nausea,
weakness, loss of judgement and coordination, coma and even death at high
doses.
